Description
The hinge blade forging type is a specific design of hinge blade used in ISO shipping containers (e.g., 20ft, 40ft, or high-cube) to secure the double cargo doors to the rear corner posts. Unlike welded or cast variants, the forging type is made by hot-forging high-tensile steel, resulting in a stronger, more durable component that resists cracking under heavy loads (e.g., 30+ tons per door during transport). The nylon bush (typically PA66-grade nylon) is a low-friction, self-lubricating sleeve inserted into the blade’s pin hole, reducing wear on the steel hinge pin, minimizing noise, and preventing corrosion in marine environments. This combination is widely used in containers, including Maersk and other major shipping lines, for its reliability and low maintenance.
The hinge blade is part of the container’s rear end frame, compliant with ISO 1161 standards for corner fittings, and works with the door sill to ensure proper door alignment and sealing
