Description

The hinge blade welding type is a specific hinge blade design used in ISO shipping containers (e.g., 20ft, 40ft, or high-cube) to secure the double cargo doors to the rear corner posts. Unlike the forging type (drop-forged for maximum strength) or Maersk type (often forged with specific dimensions), the welding type is fabricated by cutting and welding steel plates into a blade shape. This makes it slightly less robust but more cost-effective and easier to manufacture or repair. The nylon bush (typically PA66-grade nylon) is a low-friction, self-lubricating sleeve inserted into the blade’s pin hole, reducing wear on the steel hinge pin, minimizing noise, and resisting corrosion in marine environments. This combination is common in standard containers (e.g., CIMC, COSCO, or Maersk fleets) and complies with ISO 1161 standards for corner fittings.
